Representatives from Nepalese banks hold discussions with SMPK on enhancing Nepal-India trade facilitation
Representatives from leading banks of Nepal, accompanied by Mr Janak Raj Bhatta, Deputy Consulate of Nepal to Kolkata, recently visited the Kolkata Dock System under Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata (SMPK).
Sixteen banking professionals engaged with senior SMPK officials in fruitful discussions focused on enhancing Nepal-India trade facilitation. Key topics included Customs procedures, document verification, cargo release mechanisms, Bills of Lading handling, ECTS processes and port charges for Nepal-bound cargo.
The meeting highlighted a shared commitment to improving efficiency and significantly increasing Nepal cargo traffic through the Kolkata Dock System, said a communique.
